Started Jan 8, 2025
Full course description
The University of Maryland Office of Undergraduate Research's Undergraduate Research Opportunities & Competencies (UROC) Open Educational Resource is designed to provide undergraduate students with the essential skills and tools to take on an undergraduate research opportunity, succeed as a member of a research team, and lead as a peer mentor.
UROC is divided into two content areas: Research Skills & Competencies and Leading in Undergraduate Research. We encourage students to pick and choose which UROC modules and pages will be most useful to them.
Research Skills & Competencies
This first content area includes five modules: Intro to Undergraduate Research, Undergraduate Research Toolkit, AI & Information Literacy in Research, Taking Action, and Research Opportunity Read. Students who complete all five modules in UROC's Research Skills & Competencies Content Area will receive a certificate of completion.
Leading in Undergraduate Research
This second content area is designed to support undergraduate students who serve as leaders or peer mentors to those who are interested in or actively participating in undergraduate research. This content area is divided into two modules: Building Effective Relationships and Offering Feedback.
Any questions about UROC can be directed to the Office of Undergraduate Research (our-office@umd.edu)!
