Full course description

The University of Maryland Office of Undergraduate Research's Undergraduate Research Opportunities & Competencies (UROC) Open Educational Resource is designed to equip undergraduate students with the necessary skills for engaging in research opportunities. UROC is divided into four modules:

  1. Undergraduate Research 101: Introduction to undergraduate research, UR formats, and benefits.
  2. Undergraduate Research Toolkit: Overview of essential skills needed for research experiences.
  3. AI & Information Literacy in Research: Understanding AI tools and their responsible use in research. This module is a slight modification of the TLTC's AI & Information Literacy Modules
  4. Taking Action: Guidance on reflecting on research interests, finding a research mentor, and navigating mentor-mentee relationships.

While users can choose which modules are most relevant to them, completing all four modules will earn users a certificate of completion, which will be sent to them via email.
